Frequently Asked
Questions

What type of cameras do
you use?
Ash Cam Video shoots only on digital 3-chip cameras.
How many cameras do you use?
Depending on the package you select, we can provide two manned cameras
videotaping throughout the wedding ceremony in order to "see" wedding
from more than one view. It is the responsibility of the Bridal
couple to obtain prior approval from the celebrant for the videotaping
of the wedding ceremony.
Can you attend our rehearsal dinner?
At an additional cost, one videographer can attend rehearsal events.
How do you capture sound?
A wireless microphone is discreetly placed on the groom; an additional
microphone may be placed at a podium where readings are being done if
necessary.
What time will you arrive at the location?
We arrive about one hour prior to ceremony to set up and shoot the
outside and inside of the location and the arrival of some of the
guests, groom and bride. Both cameras start shooting about 10 minutes
before ceremony starts. Videographers will only shoot in locations as
approved by the officiant. We will shoot the bride and groom as they
recess if appropriate.
What do you videotape at the reception?
We try to arrive at the reception site before the bridal party so that
the site can be shot before anyone enters. We will shoot all "key
moments" of reception as long as we are kept informed as to when things
will happen, e.g., entrance, first dance, cake cutting, etc.
We do not shoot during dinner unless we are informed that there will be
entertainment or any special events occurring.
On camera lights are used as necessary for professional quality video.
We will ask the bride and groom to do a farewell shot during the
evening.
What is the finished product?
The ceremony and reception video is provided on separate DVDs. VHS
available upon request.
What else is important?
Remember to communicate with the videographer in order to capture the
cherished parts of your wedding day memories.
Tell us about any special people you would like to see on the videotape.
If possible, point them out.
Please tell us about any plans you have made for any different or
unusual events at the wedding, e.g., groom singing to the bride, words
written on the bottom of shoes, etc. so we can capture them on tape.
Your video will bring time to a halt. Everything important will be
there: your vows, your gown, your reception, YOU! Everything that makes
your wedding day the single most important day of your life will be
professionally and creatively captured on video.
